Valmalenco is known for being a hidden gem for ski touring and ski mountaineering, offering everything from easy to rarely attempted, challenging terrain.

Ski touring here is a journey into the wild. It’s about the rhythmic crunch of skins on snow, the breath-taking views of the Bernina Range, and the pure freedom of drawing your own line down a pristine, untouched face. Ski touring with a local guide brings knowledge of the best snow and adventure for every skill level.

We can create a customized trip, tailoring the itinerary to your fitness and ability, from introductory on safer slopes to challenging alpine traverses.

Ski Touring Day Trip

Popular tours like Passo Cassandra and Pizzo Scalino are some of the objective of the Day Trip Ski Touring program.

While trying to reach one the the many beautiful peaks of the valley we will work on refining and perfecting your skinning technique, transitions, and kick-turns, improving off-piste skiing in various snow conditions (powder, crud, crust) on steep slopes and developing the essential mental and practical skills for managing risk and making sound judgments in the backcountry.

In spring time when snowpack is often more solid and stable, Valmalenco opens up a lot of interesting steep skiing adventures.
