If you have always wanted to try ski touring but have not yet found the right moment or location, Valmalenco is the ideal place to start. With its accessible terrain and stunning scenery, it offers the perfect introduction to the world of backcountry ski exploration.

We offer an introductory course on gentle and safer slopes that focus heavily on risk management, terrain navigation, uphill skinning technique and the use of mandatory avalanche safety equipment (avalanche beacon, shovel and probe).

Pricing

Pricing is for a 1-day course.

Minimum 4 people:

€ 115 Euro per person
(about $180 CAD)

Number of guests:
The maximum number depends on the level of skiers and terrain.

Prices already include taxes but don’t include hut stay for you and the guide. Some mountain huts offer 2-4 bed private rooms, while others have dormitory style accommodation.

Join us for a structured base course that focuses on teaching the skinning technique, transitions, and kick-turns, improving off-piste skiing in various snow conditions (powder, crud, crust) on easy slopes and developing the essential mental and practical skills for managing risk and making sound judgments in the backcountry.

We will create multiple scenario for practicing avalanche rescue technique and use of the mandatory avalanche equipment. For training, technique improvement, and avalanche courses, new comers will be taken into easy terrain close to a ski resort, up to Monte Motta, or in the backcountry to Passo di Campagneda.
